Thank you for visiting the site of Beacon Wine Company, Inc., importer of Spain's most marketable wines. We have been searching for Spain's finest wine values for over 25 years. We are among a dozen or so pioneers who brought Spanish wines from outside Rioja to the U.S. in the 1980s.

We started in 1981 as a Massachusetts importer and distributor. In t he mid 1980s distributors started to specialize in importing and marketing wines from the lesser known wine regions around the world. We chose Spain because one of the principals of our company was Spanish. We thought this would give us a competitive edge. It was slow going at first, but in time our wines met with an enthusiastic reception.

In the early 1990s we started distributing our brands to wholesalers outside Massachusetts. In 1995 we moved our operation to San Francisco.

We currently act as our own distributor in California and as a supplier to distributors in some 20 other states. With the aim of focusing on our key brands, we have decided not to expand our portfolio short term but rather to try to expand the number of active distributors nationwide.
